For the final assignment I will try to include every skill and technique we have learned this semester into one complete piece. I want to further expand my last project, to further announce camera reaction to the figures, animation of the characters arms and eyes, along with separate scenes that will transition. I will use all three compositions below.
Scene 1: Shot With an Arrow: A silhouetted figure stands on top of a cliff, looking towards the sky. (His silhouette might change to
the texture and color of the final scene) He is shot from behind with an arrow, then falls off the cliff to his death.
Scene 2: The Pit Below: The man falls into the Pit of hell. He is consumed by fire. The figure above blinks his eyes.
Scene 3: Stoned Hell: He continues his journey through hell. (Intense camera action/ Zooms and Panning, which I found a great tutorial for..... http://www.videocopilot.net/tutorial/advanced_camera_tips/

Based on your last animation, I can see how this would develop into a very visually compelling piece. However, I would like a bit more information as to how each scene will work to get more of an idea of what the end result will look like. The fire for example could be animated in any number of different ways. Also, it might be a good idea if you were to develop your concept a bit more. As of right now, I'm not sure what the meaning behind your piece is, other than being a bad ass animation.
ReplyDeleteCompliments:
ReplyDelete1. Solid narrative to the piece. Maybe add in sound to add emphasis to the story?
2. Interesting narrative. Needs to have the idea of hell expanded and pushed to the extreme.
Concerns:
1. The falling concerns me. Maybe adding dynamic camera movements or a few effects could make it more interesting?
2. What is his journey through hell? Is it similar to Dante's Inferno? Completely original? Biblical? Expand on what is hell.
3. Why being shot in the back? Why not pushed, stabbed or tripped? Is there significance to the arrow?
I think the first scene should look more like the others aesthetically, they don't have to be exactly the same but more similar than now. I believe there should be more transitions between the scenes or break the scenes into multiple shots and angles, especially the fall from the cliff. Is there no definite end? Overall I think your characters, color scheme, and textures work very well, and I believe the camera angles will add a lot.
